Laura’s profile:

Laura has been dancing since the young age of 3! She has trained to a high level, taking I.S.T.D examinations in Jazz, Latin, Ballroom, Western line, and Disco.

Laura began competing in national dance competitions at the age of 11, and soon became a championship competitor, something that she is very proud of.

After leaving school Laura went on to train professionally at the prestigious Newcastle Performance Academy, where she gained a HND in Musical Theatre,

She then went onto complete her BA Hons degree in Dance at Northumbria University.

Since leaving University Laura has had experience of working both as a professional dancer and as a teacher.

At present Laura teaches Btec and Key Stage 3 Dance at York High School, as well as running Limelight.   

Emma’s profile:
Emma is currently in the final year of her degree in theatre studies at York St John Uni and specialises in both dance and drama. Most recently she has performed in various Shakespeare plays around the UK and held dance and drama workshops in schools for sixteen’s and under. Previous to her degree Emma spent time performing at Alton Towers and Butlins and worked as an actress at York Dungeons. Emma has extensive dance experience but her passions lie in Drama and performing. After finishing her degree Emma hopes to gain QTS and teach in schools as well as running Limelight.

Laura and Emma met at York College in 2002 whist studding towards their Btec ND in Drama. It was always their dream to run a successful dance and drama business and they would like to thank all Limelight members for their support.
